Tell Me About Your Great Day

“What’s a typical day like for you?”

Have you asked that question during an interview?

What are the odds that answer is going to be “oh, there’s no such thing as a typical day.”

Instead, ask this:

“What’s a great day like for you?”

Why is that a better question for you to ask, you ask?

Just ask yourself that question, and feel how it just warms you up inside.

Think about your most recent great day at work or in life.

All the things that went right, that went your way, that turned out better than you expected.

It might have been only one thing. One brilliant ray of light shining through the clouds.

New connections. Finished projects. Praise from the outside, music to your ears.

Think about how you remembered that THIS why you took this job or chose this career. About the people you enjoy working with. I’m pretty sure you’ll remember other people and their role in making your great day so great.

Do you want to leave your interviewer or conversation partner with that same warm and happy feeling?

And it’s so easy to do.

Try it and let us know how it goes.

See you tomorrow.
