These are among the most famous B-Sides in rock history.
So it’s also a term from another era.
Way back when, music could be purchased not one, but two songs at a time, with a song on each side of a 7” diameter disk.
The A-side was expected to be more popular, to move the music, but they didn’t just leave the other side blank. Another song would be hidden on the B-side.
And like my list shows, sometimes that B-side was just as good, if not better, than its counterpart.
