What a great game to watch.
Here’s some sports trivia: Did you know that the MVP, KC’s starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft? My fellow Bears fans, just close your eyes really hard. What could have been.
Did you know that 49er QB Brock Purdy was the LAST player selected in his draft year?
Who was chosen before him? Everyone. And yet there he was almost winning the Super Bowl.
Back to Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes now has three championship rings and is already recognized as a sure Hall of Famer, one of the best.
And he’s just four Super Bowl rings behind still-retired Tom Brady.
Yes, it’s my annual Super Bowl tribute to my fellow Wolverine.
Brady was the 199th overall pick in his college draft. Not as unrecognized as Brock Purdy, but Purdy is still looking for his first championship.
Tom Brady. No matter what you think of him or of football, he’s generally regarded as the best ever.
Even after being told at least 5 times by every team in the NFL that they didn’t think he could start for them.
