From me to you (and to me, too):  Society Salts Your Food

It’s easy to give advice. I think I find it easy to take advice too.

But for me to heed the words that I say to others? Not so easy.

So this one is for both of us.

During a recent visit to a physician, the topic of high blood pressure came up.

My wife and I bragged that we rarely put salt in or on our food.

“Doesn’t matter,” said the doctor. “Society salts your food.”

Society adds butter, too.

That’s why restaurant food and processed food taste so good.

Well that sounds kind of hopeless.

But it’s not hopeless.

It’s just understanding that there’s a reality out there that might be at odds with your own best efforts.

But don’t give up. Keep trying to do what’s right for yourself and those you care about.

You can do it. You’ll be glad you did.

(And so will I!)

See you tomorrow!
