Tuesday Tales: The Knocker
Did you hear that knock on the door?
It might be opportunity knocking.
You should probably get up and check.
Go on, don’t just sit there.
Even if it’s not opportunity, at least you’ll get a few steps in.
And if it is opportunity, it might not even look the way you imagined.
It might be wearing overalls.
It might be a mess.
It might look like work.
It might look like a conversation you’ve been avoiding.
Or a project that doesn’t come with a title or a guarantee.
Or a person you didn’t expect to learn from.
(Why did you even think that?)
Don’t just sit there.
Open the door.
And if no one’s there, look down the hallway.
Around the corner.
Maybe opportunity got tired of waiting.
In fact, why don’t you knock on the door next to yours?
That’s right.
You get up.
You knock.
And you hope whoever’s on the other side is willing to answer.
After all…
It could be opportunity knocking.
Or you could be the opportunity someone else is waiting for.
