Face Front! Friday! Don’t Follow the Bouncing Ball… BE the Bouncing Ball

Belated congrats to the Super Bowl winners, the Seattle Seahawks!

So why is there a picture of a young Tom Brady pictured here, standing in his underpants?

It’s Face Front! Friday! And this is wrong for so many reasons!

Well, we both went to University of Michigan. So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.

But Tom wasn’t the winning quarterback in this year’s Super Bowl. He didn’t even play.

(Still, no matter what you think of Brady or what you think of football, he’s still generally regarded as the best ever.)

Sam Darnold was Seattle’s QB.

Remember on Tuesday, I shared a moment of mentoring, quoting General Patton in reminding you that “Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.”

Sam Darnold has BOUNCED.

Started his career in 2018 with the New York Jets. Traded to the Carolina Panthers. Played backup for the San Francisco 49er. Finally succeeded with the Minnesota Vikings, only to be let loose once again. Won the Super Bowl with his fifth team.

That’s a lot of bouncing.

And then last weekend Sam ended up about as high as an NFL player can possibly go.

So what about us?

Don’t give up.

Don’t worry about how many times you’re pushed aside or dropped.

Don’t worry about when you’re selected or if you’re selected. Darnold was the third player picked out of college, but several years earlier, Brady was the 199th.

As long as you’re given a chance.

Or maybe  you have to grab a chance that nobody wants to give you.

Either way, it’s up to you.

Prove the doubters wrong and celebrate with those who believe in you.

More for you on Tuesday.
