Face Front! Friday! What’s Your Plan?

On Tuesday I shared something that shows up in the best career origin stories:

You’ve got a situation.

Your familiar solutions, your go-to moves, your usual team… none of them are enough for this mess.

Whether you face a project spiraling downward or a new mission you just don’t feel ready for, you can feel something shifting.

That’s your comfort zone about to get bigger, following you as you step outside of it.

Not with a perfect plan, but with a willingness to figure it out.

Pull in people you haven’t worked with before. Try approaches that are new to you. Borrow ideas, adapt on the fly, and improvise.

Move things forward. Change how others see you. And how  you see yourself.

Let’s translate this from the fantastical to the factual:

“In one of my previous roles, I found myself in a situation where a project fell outside my usual responsibilities and didn’t have a clear path forward. I didn’t have a perfect plan, but I stepped in, worked across teams, and we figured it out as we went along. That experience pushed me to rely on new skills and ultimately expanded what I’m confident taking on.”

That’s the kind of growth mindset that builds your story.

Let’s do this again on Tuesday.
