Tuesday Tales: Talking About Ted
One of the themes that I love to share with you is that when you step out of your comfort zone, you’re still safe. And your comfort zone gets bigger. As does your safe zone. Pretty amazing how it keeps going like that. It’s almost magical: the boundaries keep moving outward as long as you’re willing to take the next step.
Not long ago, I took one of those steps.
Thanks to a generous recommendation from my friend Mindy, I had the chance to share my You Own Your Origin Story workshop with the team at the London Arts-Based Research Centre. A new audience. A new venue. A little uncomfortable… and still safe.
They invited me to present at their conference last weekend, entitled Coaching, Kindness, and Culture: Psychology, Sports, the Arts, Leadership… & Ted Lasso: A Transdisciplinary Conference.
And what an experience.
Brilliant people.
Different perspectives.
A room (well—Zoom room!) full of curiosity and generosity.
No London souvenirs in my suitcase this time.
But I walked away with something better: new ideas, new connections, and a reminder that every time you stretch your comfort zone, you build your identity too.
Because that’s what growth feels like.
A little uncomfortable.
Still safe.
And absolutely worth it.
