Face Front! Friday! Your Vision Statement

On Tuesday I told you about one of my favorite Davy Affirmations:

BE IT AND YOU’LL SEE IT.

If you want to be a writer, then write. Now you are a writer.

If you want to be creative, then make something. Anything. Now you are creative.

If you want to be a leader, then lead. Now you are a leader.

Just take a step forward and start.

And then you keep it going.

Going? Going where?

Where do you want to go, as a writer, as a creative contributor, as a leader?

It can be small, and close at hand, and it can be big, a little beyond your headlights.

Here’s another way to look at it:

What change do you want to bring about?

What is your vision, for what your world looks like when your work… big or small… is done?

Can you do it alone, or do you need to find someone to help you, to join  you?

If you want to be a team-builder, then build a team. Now you are a team-builder.

If you want to feel like you belong, then belong.

Don’t fake it.

You’re not an imposter.

Be it.

Make your vision come to life.

Your challenges are the beginning of your origin story.
