Tuesday Tales: The Unforgiving Gauntlet

Here’s today’s mentoring moment. I hope you find it useful.

Your moment might come in the face of adversity. Not just one episode, but an ongoing struggle to succeed that feels like a fight for survival.

When I met Albert, he told me about growing up in the unforgiving arena of Spanish Harlem, every day facing an unseen adversary he knew only as the Gauntlet. The Gauntlet was an ever-shifting force of hardship that tested him at every turn. It struck Albert not once, but relentlessly, taking the form of instability, loss, and pressure, each trial designed to break him. But instead of falling, Albert adapted, reshaping himself to meet every challenge, learning to remain steady while the world around him shifted. Where others saw chaos, Albert began to see patterns; where others felt defeat, he found training. Over time, Albert realized the Gauntlet had not come to destroy him, but to help him forge his greatest power. And so he emerged… not unscathed but transformed, and armed with the rare ability to endure, adapt, and ultimately master every challenge in any environment placed before him.

That’s the origin moment.

More on Friday, when we explore how Albert can share his amazing origin story at work.

Your challenges are the beginning of your origin story.

You Own Your Origin Story (YOYOS) helps you turn your experiences into assets.

You own your origin story. If you’re ready to claim it, message me.
